I’m a proud mama of three girls who play ice hockey! They just finished their busy 6 month long season.

Sophia was chosen as co-captain of her Peewee team and it was such a memorable moment when she asked me to sew the C on her jersey! She racked up 66 goals from their first exhibition game to their final tournament game. This September she will be moving up to Bantam

This was Sarah’s first year in Atom and she score 7 goals and had many assists. The most memorable was the hat trick she scored for her birthday. I told her before the game that if she scored one goal, she would get a vanilla cake; two goals = chocolate cake; and three goals = ice-cream cake. And she really wanted an ice-cream cake

This was Hannah’s first season ever! She took a couple sets of lessons and then some pond hockey early 2011 and she can already out skate me! Hannah loves to chit chat with her friends on and off the ice. She score one HUGE goal this season against the Richmond Ravens. Dad was there to witness it and he was so proud of her!

In a couple of months, we will be living at the ice arenas again, but for now, I want to commemorate this memorable season with a portrait collage. Can you tell I’m a proud mama?

Two and a half years ago, the S family hired me to help photography them in their first home before they moved out. It was a very memorable session and to this day, one of their images still shows on my website. *Love*. A few weeks ago, they welcomed baby Audrey into their now larger and more beautiful home! She came to us with a clean canvas, the best makeup she could find and a whole lot of trust in us! I met baby B and her mommy a week before their session and she must have woken up on the wrong side of bed because she was not happy that day. But on the day of her close-up, she was ready to shoot! We got lucky again with weather and got plenty of sunshine following a rainy, windy day. Thank you Charmaine for having me photograph your family! Baby B is one cutie patootie!

The Glumac family is our ex-neighbours whom we are still in touch with. Their little girl Miss X reminds me so much of my own little Hannah! Their eye colour, expressions and especially their frown look eerily similar! I had my husband take a look at their portrait and he pointed out that he and X’s dad have similar features….. now why didn’t I notice that?? This session was the family session which N won earlier this year through my little contest. We didn’t get to do portraits until now but it was worth waiting for! My oh my! What a gorgeous family session done at Sugar Studios in Vancouver. I cannot tell you how awesome it is to photograph a family from it’s beginnings to the present. I’ve known Danielle for ten years, before her babies were born and now her three angels are 6,5, and 3 and a half. Where does the time go?

This is what family portrait photography is about. Capturing and preserving their childhood, frame by frame. Never will they be this small again.
